One guy, start to finish.
I'm Stephen Jerge. I run Traveling Man Painting Co. out of Springport, Michigan, and I work alone. The person who quotes your job is the person who does it.
Before this I spent years as a maintenance technician at properties across mid-Michigan, so I know what a turn looks like from your side of it. The painter who says Tuesday and shows up Thursday. The wall that gets patched twice because nobody primed it the first time. I built this business around not being that guy.
I'm a veteran. Painting is most of what I do now, and I still take maintenance work when it comes up.
The things I don't negotiate on.
- I answer my phone. If I genuinely can't, you get a call back the same day.
- I don't quote a unit I haven't walked. A number given blind is a number one of us ends up resenting. Twenty minutes on site and I'm right the first time.
- The quote is the invoice. Anything beyond what we agreed gets raised before I open a can, never added quietly at the end.
- Prep is where the job is won. Paint doesn't hide a bad wall, it highlights it. Every patch gets spot-primed, and normal turn patching is in the price. Heavy staining gets sealed properly, priced separately and agreed before I start.
- I haul my own trash. Old cans, drop debris, whatever's left behind. It leaves with me. Nothing goes in your dumpster.
- Insured, and I'll prove it. $1M per occurrence, $2M aggregate. Ask and the certificate is in your inbox the same day, with your company named as additional insured if you need it.
Seniors and veterans.
Two discounts I apply as a matter of course. Mention it when we talk and I'll build it into your number. No forms, no hoops.
Senior discount
If you're a senior homeowner, say so when you call and it comes off the quote.
Veteran discount
Veteran-owned myself, so this one matters to me. Veterans and active service get a discount on any job.
The walk-through is free.
Empty unit, occupied house, one room or a whole portfolio. Tell me what you've got and I'll give you a straight number.
